ABOUT MARGARET

Precision. Versatility. Compassion. These are the foundations Margaret Mayora has laid in more than 25 years of work—across industries and with individuals and families. Having worked in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, she has expertise in real estate transactions, wills and probate, advance directives, and contracts. Her goal: to find the most efficient legal solution, while keeping in mind a client’s specific needs.

Margaret is an advocate first. In one of her earliest positions, she helped secure fair rates for utility customers. When she moved to private practice, her first case was helping a business owner fight the eviction process. Across her career, she has prioritized making sure her clients get their due. Now, she advises a variety of clients—from first-time home buyers and longtime homeowners to business owners and those making end-of-life plans.

The most effective attorney is an empathetic one, so Margaret puts herself in each and every client’s shoes. She developed a focus on wills and probate (now one of her specialties) in part from helping a friend with their deceased father’s will. Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked with those who were ill, or their families if they had passed away, to make the estate process as simple as possible.

A born-and-raised New Yorker, Margaret is admitted in New York State as well as in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Condo and Co-op Committee and a certified Guardian ad Litem in New York State.
